WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

GMSI works with Workforce Development Boards in the administration and delivery of federally funded programs including the Workforce Investment Act and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families programs. GMSI is a leading provider of workforce development services to employers, adult workers, dislocated workers and youth. One-Stop Operations Management

GMSI works in concert with workforce boards to provide cost effective, quality driven one-stop services that provide a win-win scenario for employers and job seekers. We prepare job seekers for success in high demand, long term growth industries. Through our network of community resources and employer partnerships, we channel prepared and productive employees into the local economy. We proactively respond to changes in local and national economic trends through creative and streamlined management practices.

Our in-depth experience and seasoned leadership team assists one-stops in efficient and customized program design. We also assist management in building an innovative and pragmatic management infrastructure. Finally, we develop a road map to assist one-stops in exceeding performance measures.

Employer Services

GMSI’s broad product mix provides a solid platform for unique relationships with the local business community. We work diligently to develop long standing relationships with local businesses through aggressive outreach strategies. Our business partners include small community businesses as well as national employers. The business community looks to us to prepare their future employees in a wide range of industries including, but not limited to: healthcare, retail, construction, hospitality, “green industries” and business.

We also have the capacity to provide direct services and mentoring guidance to businesses encompassing outplacement counseling, job placement, risk management and safety consulting, ADA compliance, job task analysis and physical capabilities testing.

Employment and Training Programs

Our goal is to empower job seekers to be self-directed, self assured and confident of their skills when entering the workforce. We work closely with each job seeker to break down employment barriers to equip them to strive in the local economy. We strive to grow the local economy, one employee at a time.

Our thorough and comprehensive initial assessment package initiates an employment and training program designed to tap into the unique transferrable skills of each job seeker. Aggressive job seeking skills training coupled with job coaching and placement classes prepare job seekers to succeed from the initial interview to long term retention.

We also work with our job seekers to address ancillary employment barriers including child care and transportation issues. Our team also enthusiastically provides counseling, mentoring, and motivation services for our job seekers in conjunction with their customized employment and training programs.

Youth Services

Preparing our youth, ages 14 - 21, to become self sufficient, contributing members of society is an exciting and necessary service. Meaningful and realistic employment goals are targeted for each participant.

Youth services include job readiness, job seeking skills training, resume preparation, interview preparation, job development and placement. We provide services for disabled youth, non-English speaking youth, school drop-outs, youth with no working experience and youth seeking credentials and licenses.

Self sufficiency and financial independence build confidence and self-esteem. Our goal is to provide the tools, aptitudes and skills for motivated youth participants to make a difference in their lives and in their community.
